Texas heat is brutal in the sun and I just couldn't take it. Fishing is great at night and much, much cooler. Pretty soon it became the norm for me. 

As friends realized I'm always on the lake at night, they told their friends and pretty soon word of mouth resulted in my becoming a night fishing guide.

Fishing at night is calm and relaxing, with the bonus of watching the sunrise from a boat with a fishing pole in your hand.
